Gael García Bernal, Fele Martínez
dir. Pedro Almodovar. 2004, Color.
Now here’s a movie I could really relate to. If I saw it.
This movie was in Spanish and, unfortunately, the bottom of my friend’s TV is coated in bong resin, which prevented us entirely from reading the subtitles.
I forgot most of my grade school Spanish but from what I was able to pick up, this seems to be a very intelligent and tense crime caper about the rise and fall of the shoe industry set against the backdrop of heightening WW1 tensions.
Casting was muy bueno, production value tambien.
Denzel Washington turns in his best performance to date.
